Solo Diver

OVERVIEW
Although most scuba dives are made with a buddy, an experienced diver may want or need to make dives without a partner. Almost all dive facilities require this certification if you wish to dive without a buddy. You'll develop skills for self-reliance and independence, while becoming a stronger partner in a dive pair or team.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
You'll learn about potential risks of diving alone and the value of equipment redundancy and necessary back-up gear. During the course you will learn about SAC rates and how to measure yours, navigation, deploying DSMB's, and becoming familiar and comfortable using a totally redundant air source, and many other skills.

NOTES
To take this course you must be an advanced open water diver, 18 years old, and have 100 logged dives. Please also know that there is some special equipment required. You will need a redundant air system (rental available), redundant computer, mask, DSMB with line reel, and a dive slate. These items can be purchased or rented at Scott's Scuba Service prior to class.
